How To Practice Self-Care This Holiday Season at Any Budget
By Emily Chiang | Nov 02, 2021‘Tis the season! The holidays are here and with the holidays comes delicious food, amazing company, and hectic shopping. It’s easy to get swept up in the crazy holiday spirit and forget to take time for yourself. Here are ways to self-care at every budget level this magical time of year.
Candlelit Bath
Put your stress in check and unwind with a long, relaxing candlelit bath. Fill your bathtub with warm water and grab any essential oils, bath bombs, or soap you may want to use. Lavender is a great choice because of its relaxing effect. Add them into your bath and light some candles. Place the candles around your tub and play some calming music. Spotify has many playlists for you to choose from. Then, get in the bath and relax and forget everything. This candlelit bath is all about taking time for yourself.
Exercise
When you are feeling overwhelmed, one of the best ways to get a workout in while taking a breather is by going on a walk. Exercising helps to boost your mood and relieve anxiety which is the perfect way to help you destress during the neverending holiday season. You can also look up workout videos online which eliminates the cost of a gym membership and allows you to workout in the comfort of your home.
See A Movie (or Binge Your Favorite Movies)
Personally, when I feel stressed, I like to go watch a movie at the theater or rewatch one of my favorite movies while curled up in bed. Taking a mental break from all the holiday craziness while laughing or crying to your favorite movie won’t break the bank and it’s a great way for you to divert your mind to something else.
Indulge In A New Skincare Routine
Nothing brings more joy than treating yourself! It’s the holiday season so a super fun way to give yourself the self-care you deserve is by revamping your skincare routine. Some relaxing skincare essentials include face masks, moisturizers, and a nourishing face oil that will enhance your holiday glow.
